Belfast Health & Social Care Trust HR Learning and Development win National Award

The Lifelong Learning Team within Learning and Development, have won the National Healthcare People Management Association Award for Innovation in HR with their work on the Unleashing Talent Passport.

The Unleashing Talent Passport is a Level 2 Qualification based on the 6 Core Dimensions of the NHS Knowledge and Skills Framework (KSF) and is targeted at Band 1 and 2 staff.  With Essential Skills Literacy embedded into it, participants achieve 2 qualifications as part of their learning journey.  The qualification is focused on service need and closely links participants’ job roles to the training provided.  The project used this qualification as a means of accrediting the induction journey for staff within their KSF Foundation Gateway year.

Through a close collaboration with partners including Belfast Health & Social Care Trust Service Groups, UNISON, Belfast Metropolitan College, EGSA, Open College Network Northern Ireland and the Beeches Widening Participation Unit, 3 cohorts of the programme have already been delivered.  The Trust is currently working with the Faculty of Health and Social Care at London South Bank University to conduct a full evaluation based on a Learning and Productivity Metric.
