Mary Anne McCracken (1770-1866), sister of the United Irishman, Henry Joy McCracken (executed in 1798) and a prominent feminist and social reformer, was a strong anti-slavery campaigner until the end of her life. She distributed anti-slavery literature at Belfast docks.
A ‘blue plaque’ has been affixed to 62 Donegall Pass, where Mary Anne spent much of her life.
