Mr & Mrs Johnston’s Confectionery Shop - 1977

James Somerset had his grocery business here in the 1890s and Thomas Somerset was born here. Later in life, he became owner of the large manufactory in Hardcastle Street nearby. Johnston’s shop closed down on 11th February 1977.  (Victor in doorway - Ormeau Avenue Public Baths in the background.)
