OCR Text Processing, Level 3, Unit 3: Document Presentation (Advanced): Unit Specification
The Document Presentation (Advanced) qualification is an Optional Unit within the OCR Level 3 Certificate in Text Processing. The OCR Level 3 Certificate in Text Processing has been designed to assess candidates' ability to apply advanced processing and production skills to produce a variety of complex business documents.
The Document Presentation (Advanced) Unit requires candidates to produce four business documents containing an element of design (incorporating a variety of column styles and fonts and creation of diagrams and boxes) on a word processor, to a standard that meets the business document production requirements of employment at senior level. Candidates will work from a draft containing both handwritten and typewritten material, recalled text and a supplementary reference sheet containing information regarding style of layout.
Assessment takes the form of an OCR-set and marked examination. The examination period is 1 hour 45 minutes, in which time candidates are required to carry out all assessment tasks within the stated error tolerance. Results will be graded Distinction, Pass or Fail and the grade achieved will be stated on the candidate's certificate.
In order to achieve the full Certificate qualification at Level 3, candidates are required to achieve the Core Unit (Text Production (Advanced)) plus one of the optional units. A candidate who achieves the Core Unit plus three optional Units within a two-year period, will be awarded an OCR Level 3 Diploma in Text Processing. Certification is available for single Units.
