Future ... Agnes Milliken
My daughter and two of my sons no longer live in the Pass; the two youngest boys are still at home with me - but they may decide to move away also when they are older.
If I had the chance, I would move back to East Belfast tomorrow - it isn’t the same here as over there.
The Pass really lost out when the school got closed; there is quite a number of kids in the area now and they are having to attend schools as far away as Newtownbreda. It would be great if there was a closer school.
When I moved into one of the new houses in the Pass I had one daughter and three sons, plus myself and my husband. I was allocated a three-bedroom house, which was not enough for our needs. I would like to see more family housing going up in the Pass.
Better shops would also be a must; we used to have a butchers, fruit shop, shoe shop and a chippie - now what is there? Very little. Good shops where we can buy good healthy food, at low cost, is what we need.
