Training and Education in Donegall Pass

Donegall Pass Community Forum has, for many years, through its own funding and in partnership with other providers, delivered training programmes in the community through Information Technology, and other skills-based training, together with capacity-building educational projects aimed at addressing numerous issues that constitute facets of deprivation in the community.

The Forum has had some creditable successes in its provision of community training and education, however, it recognises that a very great deal more needs to be done.

The Forum works in partnership with many organisations, including the Ulster People’s College, Belfast Metropolitan College, the Workers’ Educational Association and GEMS NI, to further the aims of enhancing the capacity of its community to avail of opportunities arising from, for example, Neighbourhood Renewal; and the provision of skills-based training to enable its people to gain access to the knowledge-based economy - together with English language skills training (ESOL) for the increasing numbers of employment seekers who are strangers to our shores.
